Kate Mascho is a Registered Dietitian and licensed to practice in the state of North Carolina. She earned her Bachelors degree in Nutritional Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University, better known as Penn State University. Kate relocated from Pennsylvania to complete her Dietetic Internship through Meredith College, and was able to gain experience in a variety of areas through her internship. Kate spent time working at WakeMed Hospital in Cary, Structure House, the Wake County School System, Rex Diabetes Education Center, John Umstead Hospital, Wake Dialysis Center and Wake County WIC.
Kate joined the Poe Center staff in April 2006 as an intern through the Dietetic Internship program with Meredith College. She soon became a Health Educator that May and was later hired as a full-time member of the staff in July 2006. Kate helped develop and implement the Poe Center's comprehensive nutrition and physical activity program, Wholesome Routines. In addition to delivering programming, she was primarily responsible for managing and analyzing the data collected through the Wholesome Routines program. As the program period came to an end, Kate's position transitioned for a short time to being the Poe Center's Data Manager while still being a Health Educator. Kate is currently responsible for scheduling Poe Center programming, managing data and managing the Poe Center's social media applications. She is excited to have been given the opportunity to utilize additional skills in new areas of the Poe Center.
Kate currently lives in Raleigh with her husband Justin, son Alexander and family dog Cru. In her free time she enjoys running, visiting with family, household projects, football, reading and church. Kate enjoys sharing her knowledge of health and nutrition with family, friends and the community.
