On behalf of the board and staff of the Alice
Aycock Poe Center for Health Education, we thank you for taking the time to
learn more about how your donations to the Poe Center will help youth across
North Carolina.
Since opening our doors in 1991, the Poe Center for Health Education has
specialized in developing programs for youth to address their health concerns.
Our programs cover childhood obesity, physical inactivity, unhealthy food
choices, tooth decay, drug and alcohol abuse, unintentional injuries, teen
pregnancy and more.
Your contributions enable us to:
- Continue our commitment
to providing innovative, low cost health education programs that benefit
North Carolina’s youth for a lifetime as they learn to make healthy
lifestyle choices.
- Provide comprehensive
outreach programs to communities that otherwise would not receive health
education for their youth.
- Offer youth across the
state comprehensive programs in our innovative teaching theaters.
- Grant scholarships to
school systems and groups otherwise financially unable to receive health
education.
To provide these valuable programs for all youth
in North Carolina, The Poe Center must keep admission fees low. Fees charged
for admission pay only 24% of the Poe Center’s operating and program costs.
