Drugs Uncovered: A Must-See Workshop for Parents & ALL Adults who Interact with Youth

at John A. Holmes High School Armory in Edenton, NC

Parents, guardians, educators and counselors are invited to a FREE workshop on drug and alcohol abuse and ways to equip young people with the skills to make healthy choices.

The workshop, “Drugs Uncovered: What Parents and Adults Need to Know”, will be held from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at John A. Holmes High School Armory, located at 600 Woodard St, Edenton, North Carolina, 27932.

This program is presented by
The Poe Center for Health Education and THP Project Purple.

The Poe Center’s DRUGS UNCOVERED explores the teenage alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs culture of today. The two hour workshop combines a lecture-style format with an interactive, traveling exhibit. At approximately 20’ X 20’, the Poe Center’s “Teenager of Today’s Bedroom” holds over 70 references to substances that include elements of pop culture and common and not-so-common hiding places for alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.

Participants will learn about trends in substance use and ways to communicate effectively with children and teens about these issues. All attendees will also receive free materials, including resources to educate young people about being drug-free and alcohol-free. 2 hours of NCSAPPB Credit are offered as well.

Parents and adults who work with elementary, middle and high school students are strongly encouraged to participate! This program is for ADULTS ONLY!
