Kids Eat FREE at PlayWELL Park

Food that’s IN when school is out.

In partnership with Wake County Public School System’s Summer Food Service Program, the Poe Center provides free lunches during the summer months.

Kids under 18 years old can visit Poe’s PlayWELL Park every Wednesday between 11 am and noon to receive FREE lunch.

Lunches must be eaten by children inside the park and cannot be picked up and taken elsewhere to eat.

PlayWELL Park is open free to the public Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm.

Who:     Youth ages 18 and under

When:  Wednesdays, June 17 – August 5, 11 am – Noon

What:  Free lunch and fun nutrition and physical fitness activities: yoga, gardening, exercise, local mascot appearances, water games and more.

Fun Nutrition & Physical Fitness Activities will include:

June 17: Garden Fun and Summer Safety Education
Demonstrations on summertime first aid and risk prevention and explore the “Poe and Grow Garden”.

June 24: Yoga for Youth
Bring a towel or yoga mat for summer stretching.

July 1: Power Walking
Walk for your heart health!  Learn the key to getting the most out of any walk.  Practice good form to maximize results and learn new techniques to make your walks fun, while using more muscles.

July 8: Special Lunch Event @ Enloe High School: Carolina Panthers Play 60 Camp
All activities from 9:30-11:30 with free lunch from 11:30-12:30)
– Limited availability! Preregistration is REQUIRED-
The Play 60 Camp is a FREE and non-contact sports program designed to encourage children to become more physically fit. The camp consists of eight stations that challenge youngsters to run, throw and catch footballs while improving their coordination skills.

Music and more with dance ribbons, hula hoops and water balloons- special guest Stormy from Carolina Hurricanes.
