Renee Taylor, BS, MPH
Health Educator

Renee Taylor is a native North Carolinian who attended Wake County Public Schools. She then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she obtained her BS and Masters in Public Health. Her first work experience was at a Clinical Research Organization, where she studied the effects of a potential cardiac drug on study participants. She then moved into the Not-For-Profit realm, where she held various roles at the YMCA, The Medical Review of North Carolina, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training, and The Juvenile Diabetes Research Organization. She enjoyed all of the opportunities these organizations provided for her to work directly with their members to improve their health and wellness. She also appreciated the opportunity to contribute to science and research in the areas in which these organizations specialize. Finally, she enjoyed her roles as educator, encourager, and developer of programs which each of these organizations afforded her.

A car accident introduced her to Pilates. She fell in love with the practice and opened a boutique Pilates studio in the Cary area. She still enjoys helping her clients achieve their fitness and wellness goals through the Pilates Methodology.

She is thrilled to put her knowledge and skills to work at The Poe Center to further its mission to educate and empower NC children, youth, and their families to make choices that increase positive health behaviors.

When she is not working, she is running, reading, playing the piano, experimenting in the kitchen, and enjoying life with her husband, three daughters, and dog.
