Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates: Field Trips, Events, Visitors, etc.

Updated: March 14, 2022

Statement from Executive Director Ann Rollins:

Thank you again for your dedication to the health and wellbeing of NC children, youth, and their families. The COVID-19 pandemic has been a long road, and I am grateful to program participants, visitors, and staff who have remained vigilant to ensure a safe learning and working environment at the Poe Center.

As school and local COVID restrictions ease, the Poe Center has updated our health-safety procedures as follows. We are following evidence provided by the CDC to determine what practices are best suited for our staff and program participants.

Additionally, we continue to echo local, state, and national health recommendations to get the COVID-19 vaccine if you’re eligible.

It’s exciting to see field trips and visitors increasingly present at the Poe Center. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a busload of school children excitedly pour into our building for a day of fun learning. Maintaining proper health safety measures is the best way we can ensure they can continue to visit the Poe Center and access quality health education. Thank you for your continued support.” – Ann Rollins, Executive Director
