Drugs Uncovered Lite: What Parents & Adults Need to Know at Root Elementary School

Parents, guardians, educators and counselors are invited to a FREE workshop on drug and alcohol abuse and ways to equip young people with the skills to make healthy choices.

The workshop, “Drugs Uncovered Lite: What Parents and Adults Need to Know”, will be held from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Root Elementary School, located at 3202 Northampton Street, Raleigh 27609.

Recently updated and enhanced, the Poe Center’s DRUGS UNCOVERED program explores the teenage drug, alcohol and tobacco culture of today. The one hour workshop combines a lecture-style format with an interactive presentation that includes elements of pop culture and common and not-so-common hiding places for drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
Participants will learn about trends in substance abuse and ways to communicate effectively with children and teens about these issues. All attendees will also receive free materials, including resources to educate young people about being drug-free and alcohol-free.
Parents and adults who work with elementary, middle and  high school students are strongly encouraged to participate!  This program is for ADULTS ONLY!
