Lunch Provided.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYouth Mental Health First Aid\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYouth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, family members\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. \n\n\n\nTopics covered include anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)\, and eating disorders. \n\n\n\nWe are limited to 15 participants. The goal is to help create “trauma-informed” and “resilience-focused” communities that share a common understanding of the impact trauma and chronic stress have on the nervous system and how resilience can be restored or enhanced through this approach. Participants will learn practical tools to help balance their nervous system through engaging in hands-on activities\, discussions\, and practice. \n\n\n\nWe are limited to 20 participants. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. \n\n\n\nTopics covered include anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)\, and eating disorders. \n\n\n\n\nThis class is split into two days\, June 18th and the 25th. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. \n\n\n\nTopics covered include anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)\, and eating disorders. \n\n\n\nWe are limited to 30 participants.
