Wake County Tobacco-Free Poster Contest

Do you have a positive tobacco/vape-free message you would like to share?
Are you a teen in Wake County? If you said yes: You know your peers, you care about the issue of vaping, you can make the message that makes a difference. You can help protect our community from the negative effects of nicotine.
We are currently looking for submissions for the Wake County Tobacco-Free Poster contest. Eligible participants must be students in grades in 8 through 12 who reside in or attend school in Wake County, NC. Submissions can be made by an individual or a group.
Tips for an effective poster:
• Double-check your facts to ensure accurate messaging.
• Keep your target audience in mind. (What would grab the attention of your peers?)
• What do you want your peers to know? Are there specific myths that need to be corrected?
Posters are due by June 3rd.
Posters may not include copyrighted material, pro tobacco use messaging or imagery, name brands, or actual photos of youth using tobacco products.
Prizes:
First Prize – $50
Runners Up – $25
Judging Criteria
30 Points – Originality and Creativity: Is the poster unique and creative?
30 Points – Concept: Does the poster clearly and accurately address the topic to prevent teen tobacco and vaping use?
Is the message and concept effective?
30 Points – Clarity of Message: Is the idea communicated clearly?
10 Points – Quality of Art and Writing: Does the message use proper spelling and grammar?
