Bullying Prevention

Kindness is an important part of Bullying prevention. Kindness to ourselves and others. Youth and families are invited to explore positive things about themselves is an engaging activity called the Compliment Flower. The materials you will need are in your Poefest kits or downloadable here ➡️.

Best suited for K-5th graders & their families, but all are welcome!

Terrific Teeth Video

Dental Health

Originally aired on Terrific Teeth Tuesday, this video from the Poe Center features Ms. Alaina who teaches us all about how to keep our teeth healthy. Learn about healthy snacks, calcium, keeping teeth clean, and more! Marshall Molar from Delta Dental joins Ms. Alaina on this terrific tour of tooth health.
Best suited for PreK-2nd graders, but all are welcome.

Window Greenhouse Craft

GrowWELL Garden

Navigating  Changes 

Family Life

Adolescence is a journey that includes social and emotional changes that impact friendships and relationships with others. It’s important to know who to turn to when you need advice on friendships. Through Zoom, audience members will actively participate in a Mad Lib related Wacky Wordplay that will outline who is the best person to turn to for advice during the adolescent journey. Be prepared to get creative and laugh out loud!

Best for 4th-7th graders.

Bee Downtown

Poe Hives

Watch a video from Bee Downtown, taken this summer as they installed Poe’s custom beehives. The beehives live outside of the Poe Center and are available to explore through upcoming programs. Come along with us as we follow a recipe to create a healthy snack while learning about MyPlate, healthy snacking, and proper kitchen safety. Join us as we make a special Thanksgiving “snacktivity!” The materials you will need are in your Poefest kits or downloadable here ➡️. ½ of whole wheat English muffin, ½ whole wheat sandwich thin, or 1 rice cake | 1 stalk of celery or 5 snow peas  | 5 baby carrots | 1 stick string cheese | 2 Tbsp hummus | 2 raisins or dried cranberries | 1 pumpkin or sunflower seed

Join us for a fun interactive experience as we talk about making healthy choices! We will look at the difference between medicine and candy, discuss mental wellness, and learn about relaxation. 

Best suited for 2nd – 5th grade.
