“This class helped me by learning stretches to do at home. Improved my balance. Eased some back and shoulder pain.
I also strengthened my back muscles. I would like to see programs like this repeated and others like it offered!”
– Stay Strong, Stay Healthy Participant

Stay Strong, Stay Healthy
“Stay Strong, Stay Healthy” is a multi-week program designed to help older adults build strength, improve balance, and stay active for life. With support from trained instructors, participants use simple chair and standing exercises that can be tailored to their abilities.

Nutrition Programs
Building healthy eating habits are at the core of the Poe Center’s nutrition programs. From savvy shopping to understanding food labels to cooking healthy meals, programs help seniors make nutritious choices beyond what’s on their plate. Recipe demonstrations, tastings, and hands-on activities make programs engaging and fun.

Garden Programs
The Poe Center’s garden specialists help groups design, plant, and learn to maintain thriving community gardens. Senior centers may choose from a variety of hands-on activities to create spaces that inspire edible gardening and active living.
