Karen Sansom-Goodman is a native of Raleigh, NC. After graduation from Enloe High School she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Hampton University, Hampton, Va.  Karen also earned her Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC.

Karen’s work experience includes working with at-risk families and youth across Wake County with Intensive in Home Services for many years. She later was employed and served as a facilitator for Strengthening Families Program also in Wake County. Currently, Karen serves as a Substance Use Prevention Health Educator team member for Poe’s newest program; LEAP (Lead,Empower,Achieve, with Poe).

Karen currently lives in Raleigh with her husband, Deon, and their son Julian. Karen enjoys photography, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and helping others.
