Natalia was born in San José, Costa Rica but has lived in North Carolina for the past eighteen years.  She earned a BA in History and Spanish from Campbell University.  After graduating, she worked as an ESL Parent Facilitator with the Harnett County Public School System for three years.  During her time with the schools she served as a liaison between the schools and the parents of LEP students and worked with both to improve school attendance and classroom performance.  After leaving the school system, she worked with the Harnett County Health Department.  Natalia joined the Poe staff in March 2016 as a Spanish Community Health Educator.

In her spare time, Natalia enjoys reading, traveling, following the European soccer leagues (¡Hala Madrid!), cooking and baking, learning about different cultures, learning to speak new languages (currently learning German) and spending time with friends and family.
