Teen Health Advisory Council(THAC)

Poe’s Teen Health Advisory Council is an engaged group of young people who are serious about advocating for good health in their community and can inform Poe programming and community policy makers. The Council is comprised of a diverse group of teen health peer educators, advocates and representatives. Youth and adult leaders keep abreast of current health issues and emerging trends in North Carolina. Teens, university students and adults share best practices and learn current information about pressing teen health issues from professionals.

Consider joining us for one of our monthly networking and learning sessions. Our presenters are researchers, practitioners, and policy-related officials – in other words, experts – in their field. Topics are selected by our Teen Health Advisory Council Leadership Team. Interested in being a Leadership Team Member? Join us for some of our regular sessions and apply during our spring application process.

Make Flavored Water

  1. Choose a fruit that is ripe and in season. Blackberries, blueberries, lemons, limes, oranges, raspberries, peaches, and melons are good choices.
  2. Cut the fruit into small pieces, about the size of a quarter.
  3. Fill a pitcher with cold water and fresh fruit.
  4. Refrigerate for later, or enjoy over ice!
