Alaina joined the Poe Center team in December of 2014. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and received both her Bachelors and Masters degree in Public Health from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a concentration in Community Health. She primarily works within Nutrition and Physical Activity programs as an educator, developer, and community relationship builder, but also enjoys educating across subject areas.

Alaina is most passionate about working with youth and families to achieve their desired health outcomes. She has extensive experience working with diverse groups around the areas of adolescent pregnancy prevention, human growth and development, nutrition and wellness, and chronic disease prevention.

Originally a Florida native, Alaina has called North Carolina home for over 10 years. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new recipes, and traveling.
