Our most frequently-asked questions (FAQ) about CookWELL Kitchen programs.
Located at the Poe Center for Health Education, the CookWELL Kitchen is a unique teaching space designed to encourage healthy food choices, preferences, and perspectives by creating nutritious and delicious dishes.
Schools and organizations are encouraged to schedule specialty programs, camps, or events.
The space is also available for private rental or events. Please inquire directly about cost and availability.

CookWELL Kitchen programs are offered in person at the Poe Center for Health Education at our teaching kitchen. Programs may be scheduled onsite via the Plan a Program page.
Select tastings or demonstrations may be offered offsite or virtually upon request. Please inquire directly with our Scheduling/Operations Director about availability.
CookWELL Kitchen programming may be scheduled Tuesday-Friday between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. We are currently unable to schedule CookWELL Kitchen programs on Mondays.
Evening or weekend programming may be available upon request. Please inquire directly with our Scheduling/ Operations Director about availability.
CookWELL Kitchen programs are limited to a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 16 participants at one time. Larger groups will need to be divided.
Virtual cooking demonstrations may be available for larger groups upon request. Please inquire directly with our Scheduling/ Operations Director about availability.
Each CookWELL program has a recipe built into the curriculum. Please inquire directly or additional information. We are able to accommodate many dietary restrictions upon request.
The kitchen can accommodate any age, however most kitchen programs are appropriate for ages 10+ years old. Each program has an associated recommended age group for participants, that can be found within each program description.
Due to the mixed-use nature of the space, we cannot guarantee that certain food allergens have not been present in the room at any given period of time.
With advance notice, we are able to accommodate most food allergies upon request. Please inquire directly with our Scheduling/Operations Director about your specific food allergy or intolerance.
Yes, select CookWELL Kitchen programs may be offered in Spanish. Please inquire directly with our Scheduling/ Operations Director about availability.

Yes, the CookWELL Kitchen has ADA accessible work surfaces, pass through clearance, and sinks.
