We are distressed and disturbed by the fatal shooting in a Raleigh neighborhood that occurred on October 13, 2022. Our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and the communities that have been traumatized. We are grateful for the response of our law enforcement and first responders who restored safety in our community.

Firearm deaths are preventable. As a community, we can work together to prevent this by providing education, resources, and support, as well as making sure firearms are secured, especially in homes where children and youth reside.

Our health educators have compiled a list of resources designed to help adults discuss these events with children and encourage them to find hope when they are feeling increased anxiety and fear.
